Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration  

Probate is the Legal process everybody must go through to claim the money and property of someone who has died. There are 4 main avenues of Probate and these are:-

1. Where the Estate is less than £5000                                       [A Probate application may not be required]
2. Where the Deceased left a Valid Will                                      [This a called a Grant of Probate]
3. Where the Deceased left no Will                                            [This is called dying intestate and is an application for Letters of Administration]
4. Where the Estate is valued at more than £325,000                  [This estate may be liable to pay Inheritance Tax*]see Inheritance Tax Calculator
